Floreat Transformation

The whole project was managed professionally and efficiently

When Floreat couple Gavin and Kym were considering major home improvements, they sought the advice of one of WA’s leading designers and builders – Summit Home Improvements.

Their 1950’s brick and tile home had seen a number of smaller renovations over the years and the homeowners were only too aware that while these “add ons” had created more space they were not in keeping with the home’s original character.

Angelo Tomassone, Sales and Marketing Manager for Summit Home Improvements said Gavin and Kym were keen to retain the character of the existing home which featured ornate high ceilings and polished boards.  However the small spaces which had been added over time created a sense of being “enclosed” and did not reflect the style of home they wanted.

“Their brief to us was to design a modern family home which was compatible in style and feel with other homes in the area, while also creating a spacious open plan living area which seamlessly connected with their large backyard” said Angelo.

In just seven months, the Floreat home underwent a complete transformation; which included the addition of a double brick and colorbond master bedroom, ensuite, second bathroom and laundry, as well as an open plan living/dining area opening onto a generous alfresco space.  A new, larger kitchen was also designed and installed featuring stone bench tops, soft-close doors and drawers and modern fittings and appliances.

Home owner Kym said from commencement through to completion Summit Home Improvements managed the whole project professionally and efficiently.

“When you embark on a full scale home improvement you expect there are going to be some obstacles.  However, more often than not Angelo and the team were able to show us what could be done rather than focussing on what couldn’t be done” said Kym.
