Rossmoyne Potential Achieved

This is now the perfect home for us to live and entertain in

Confidence in a building partner who could deliver both quality design and construction were high on the list of these homeowners when they were considering a major extension to their Rossmoyne home.

Having purchased the 1960’s cul de sac home some ten years earlier, the home owners had already undertaken a number of renovation and landscaping projects before deciding to embark on a major home improvement project.

Home owner Annette said while she had a good idea of what she wanted, she was looking for a home builder who could add value to her ideas and reliably bring her vision to life.

“We wanted a better connection to our pool area and more privacy for ourselves and our children, but  my biggest fear was that I would end up with a home that looked like a tack-on extension” said Annette.

“Summit Home Improvements did a 3D concept design very early on so that we could visualise the external look of the proposed extensions and they supplied us with a list of homes they had completed which were similar to what we wanted so we could drive past and have a look at the quality of their workmanship.  In every instance we were really impressed with how well they had integrated the old with the new; this gave us the confidence we needed to proceed with an extensive renovation with Summit Home Improvements.”

For Annette and her family it was critical the home improvements took advantage of the generous natural light and views of both the front and rear landscaped gardens.  A previous renovation undertaken by a prior owner had included the construction of a sunken lounge with 5.5m x 2.4m of glass providing uninterrupted views of the manicured rear garden, this was an iconic feature of the home and one which needed to be integrated into the design.

“Angelo Tomassone from Summit Home Improvements was so enthusiastic” said Annette.

“He immediately saw the potential in our home and his ideas married well with what I wanted to achieve, and of course they could do it within our budget.”

“The whole team were great to work with, they were very accommodating in incorporating any changes we had and they provided great customer service at every level” added Annette.

The extensive project included reworking the original configuration of bedrooms downstairs to accommodate a new large modern kitchen and dining area which flows well into the existing sunken lounge and front garden and pool area.  The downstairs bedrooms were reconfigured to provide privacy to bedrooms for their two children as well as a guest room, and abundant storage. Rooms were opened up to include a large games/TV room which allowed for a pool table and bar.

The upstairs addition provides a large parent’s retreat/office, with generous walk in robes and a luxurious bathroom which opens into the master bedroom.   By creating an open bathroom design the river views can now be enjoyed from the master bedroom.

Throughout the home there is evidence of Annette’s design ethos of less is more.  Choosing a neutral palette which creates a sense of space and compliments the expanse of natural light, Annette and her husband have used their large home to showcase their collection of vibrant artwork; large canvass pieces with striking colours which bring each room to life.

“This is now the perfect home for us to live and entertain in” said Annette.

“We’re so pleased with how it has come together and I would happily use Summit Home Improvements again.”
